Updates and Pictures by Request.

By request from Bunny to see the Buggy and thus my Name buggytime here are a couple pictures of it. It is a fun car that I built in 1993 and as I write this it is sitting outside the window as I drove it to work today. As you can guess kids love that car and I am almost always giving one a ride.
Running update. Last Saturday I went out for a run with a group. I was on this mountain trail and back in 2.5 miles when going down the back side I hit a rock wrong and rolled my left ankle. I had to send everyone on without me and I turned back and walked/hiked out the 2.5 miles limping on a sore ankle. It swelled and was huge and turned black and blue. I have not ran now for a week but the swelling and bruising has dropped considerably so hoping to start again this next week.
Softball update. We go into a huge tournament tomorrow. We will play 2 teams from Texas and 1 from Oklahoma this weekend in pool play and then the bracket play begins Monday with double elimination. Wish us luck as this is our last tournament here until we head to the World Series in Park City Utah on July 9th.
Fighting update. Nothing new to report.

Happy Fighter's umm Father's Day

My daughter played in the State tournament this last weekend. It started on Friday morning and we went into a game against a team I thought might beat us. We played really well and beat them. Saturday we played again and won thus staying in the winner’s bracket. We lost that afternoon pushing us into the loser bracket to win back in. Sunday morning we had a team that we should have easily beat and the girls I think decided to not play. They collapsed and we lost ending state in 5th place. That was okay so we made plans to try and enjoy the rest of father’s day.
I made a call to my father and found that he was in the mountains escaping the heat with my mom and sister’s family. We decided to go join them and headed up the canyon. We arrived and took a tram to 8800 feet where we fed the chipmunks and hung out in the shade with a small breeze. It was a nice day to just hang for a while. We decided to head down and my sister thought it would be fun to let the kids ride the bumper boats and go carts that were located nearby.
My sister bought the kids a ride on the bumper boats and they got in their boats for the ride. More people joined and they were released. Along the side of the area was a pay for water gun use for bystanders. I paid my $1 and proceeded to shoot at the kids as they attempted to shoot at me from their boats. Then the real fun began. Some lady with a child in her boat were right below me shooting me from the side. I looked at the water hitting my legs and turned my gun on her. She spun away laughing and as she was leaving I gave her one last shot in the back of the head. (Probably should not have done that but too late now.) The ride ended and everyone was laughing and WET.
Then some guy comes up to me and says I owe his woman an apology. I think OK I am bigger then that so I went to her and said “I am sorry I shot you and got you wet, but you were in a bumper boat shooting at me first.” Okay it was not heartfelt apology but I did it. Everything is done right; they seemed okay as they walked away. NOPE guess not!
They came back out and started yelling I was a f’in pervert in front of their kids for shooting her in the boobs. Her MAN kept coming to me and saying let’s take this outside and he would be waiting for me outside. Then they left again. Then back again and f’ed me with a bunch more words and wanted to fight some more. I just turned my back to them as I stood in line for the go carts. Even another couple in line said I didn’t do anything wrong.
I got in my go cart and the manager came up to me and asked for my side of the story as they are claiming sexual harassment from me and wanting their money back. I told the guy “She shot me first, I did shoot her, and with her sitting in the boat I had 3 choices for a target. One the small child with her, two straight in the face, or three aim at her body which was straight on. I took the body shot as opposed to the face or child. I also know my wife was on the other side taping it if we wanted to review what she caught on tape.” He said sounds fair to me.
We rode the go carts and my parents called the cops in case anything happened outside the park. The manager caught me leaving and took my name and number in case he needed the tape from any charges from this other family. I gave it to him and the cops ran them off and since we were headed home escorted us out of town.
Later we did look at the tape and my wife caught it just as I stated above. She shot me I shot her, and YES I shot her in the back of the head. What a fun way to enjoy Father’s day. Now I have another year to find some way to top it. Any ideas?

The Perfect Steal

Softball is taking all my time. I took last Thursday and Friday off to attend a tournament up in a mountain town. I love going there so it is more of a vacation then anything. Well Thursday’s pool play was horrible. We were playing in cold 38 degree weather with it raining on us standing in a muddy softball field. The girls were cold and the wet ball flew everywhere. We lost horribly. Friday though we won 3 of 4 games and I counted up we played with warms ups 9 hours of softball with time in between games that we watched softball. We went from 7am to 11pm that day with softball. In the end we made to Saturday and lost our game there. We took 7th of 20 teams.
I have to tell you about a play though on our Saturday game. I had one of our fastest girls on 1st base. I gave her the steal sign and as directed she took off on the steal. The catcher on the other team though had a great arm and they tagged my girl out at 2nd. Okay game on. I had another girl that made it on and was at first. I had her in a hold pattern getting her lead and returning to 1st. I told her to take 1 more step in her lead, she did and the catcher popped up and faked a throw to 1st base to keep my girl honest and she popped back on base. I then told her on the next one to take 1 more step and the catch will throw to 1st thinking to catch you but you take off to second. She took the lead, the catcher threw to 1st, the 1st baseman caught the ball and turned to tag my girl and then looked up stunned to see my girl was now at 2nd base and didn’t come back to her base. My play worked like a charm. What makes it even better is later in the game my same girl got to 1st again and I just whispered same play. She jumped out on the lead the catcher again threw to 1st and again my girl took off and got to 2nd. I love it when a play comes together like that.
While I was in that mountain town I did a couple of runs. I did 5.5 miles one morning and I did 4 miles in the middle of the day after eating a couple Brats for lunch. I felt guilty and went out after I ate and talk about a hard run. Try eating 2 brats and then running 4 miles at 8000 feet above sea level at 2 pm which was the same day we were at the ball park for 4 games as I wrote above. I was one TIRED puppy that night! We drove home Saturday late afternoon which is about 3.5 hours away to which I tried to rest.
The reason I rested was that night I was on a Relay for Life Team. It is a fund raiser for the American Cancer Society. I had the midnight to 1 am shift to walk the track. I decided to run for my hour and I did 7.2 miles in my hour. I got home that night around 2am and again died in bed.
This brings me to one last point. As documented in previous posts and comments from Cubed, aka Smarter, aka Dumber I have still not had the privilege of my lunch from running the marathon. The whole reason I finished was for that lunch and I still have not gotten it. Please feel free to comment to him as a reminder of this. I might note though that this week is full for lunch times so next week like Monday would be a possible good fit?
