I have been part of the blogging world and not ready to give it up. Thus I will continue here or be striked on until I continue.

Labor Day Weekend.

I had a pretty good Labor Day Weekend. Here is what all happened since we cancelled our plans to go camping and boating with the colder weather blowing in.

Friday we took off to my wife’s sisters house to help them with some painting in their basement. They have been remodeling it all summer and it is to the point of painting. To get to their house takes normally about an hour on the interstate but on Friday of Labor Day weekend that was not to happen. With accidents and traffic we gave up and took back roads taking us about a 1:45 instead of the normal hour. We got there at 6:30pm and started painting. At 1am we quit with the ceilings all done with 2 coats and the walls all had 1 coat of paint. We got home and in bed around 2:30am.

I got up at 7am and went to run with the group. I did 9 miles and my foot that has been hurting did pretty well. I did some work for a client, went to my nephews birthday dinner and attended a college volleyball game. Was a pretty busy but fun Saturday.

Sunday was spent working on cars and catching up on work at home. Then off to a wedding for some friends of ours daughter. The party and dancing went late that night. It was a good party.

Monday I got up and ran a 5k race here locally. This race I ran last year and finished it in 29:55. I was 50 pound heavier and was the beginning of my running for the most part with this group I try to run with often. I ran a race in April that held my PR for a 5k of 23:14. It was awesome. I was out to beat the 23 minute mark in this race. I ended up running the 3.1 miles in 21:10 setting a new PR for myself. That is around a 6:50 mile pace. Not bad for a fat nerd. LOL. I think I have a new goal to be under the 20 minute mark for the 5k in April again. Wish me luck.
