Happy Holidays

WOW, it is the New Year already. It is amazing how fast time goes and it is true the older I get the faster it goes.

It is amazing I have been at my new job now for over 7 months and I am so enjoying it. I had my 6 month review and got a very nice raise. It was almost the end of the month and my boss took me in the conference room and said she went to management and got a little bit more. So after 6 months of leaving Addroc I am back to about what I made there and in a great place to work. I am loving it and don’t mind coming to work

We were recently covered in 2 feet of snow just before Christmas. I spent one whole day clearing out snow at my house and that of some of my co-workers including the owner of my new company. Between Christmas and New Years we got another 10 inches of snow. I was off that Friday from work but I still went to the owners house and helped her clear her very long driveway. She was grateful and paid my son for his help. I was later thinking there is no way I would have ever went and helped Addroc’s “The CEO” with her driveway. In fact about 6 months after I started at Addroc we had a similar snow storm. I didn’t help her then. It did cross my mind to go fill her driveway in though in the middle of the night.

I had a great Christmas. It was one of the first times in about 10 years I actually worked through some of the week. I didn’t mind and actually enjoyed it. For Christmas I was able to spend some time at both my parents and my inlaws. I received a bunch of new running attire to help keep me warm while out running. It has come in very handy in this snow riddled land.

My wife and I attended a bunch of parties over this season. More friends parties then we every have in the past. It made the season seem to go by quickly. One of our readers from Addroc is a friend of mine. She wanted to meet Dumber so she had a party and invited Dumber and his family. It was a nice party and Dumber showed up even.

For New Years we attended a party with a bunch of friends that my wife and I go to Las Vegas with every year. It was a good time and I drank way too much. I ended up in a major hang over all day of the 1st. I even missed the New Years day race I had signed up for. It would not have been a pretty site though to get sick while running so it was for the best.

I have decided to go ahead and start training for a marathon that will be in May. So this snow is killing my attempts to run but also giving me some rest time before going into serious training. Being a fat old nerd I don’t know if I can do one or not but I would like to have the title in my life of a Marathoner. I have some great people surrounding me saying I can do it and will help me train. So that will be what I am going to be working on over the next couple months.

How was your Christmas? Did you make any New Years resolutions you want to share? Want to make any bets on if I can complete a marathon?

Happy New Year.

First we only got 9 inches of snow the second time around and you are a suck up for shoveling the bosses driveway. Although you should have put all of her snow in your truck and put it on "The CEO's" Drive way.

The party was a really good time and I'm happy as was my family for going to it.

Sure I'll take that bet. Lunch that says you can't do it. If you don't run it you buy me lunch if you do I buy you lunch. What better motivation do you need then a free lunch. By the way I think you can do it but thats a huge accomplishment and deserver's a lunch.

I am glad that you attended the party as well. My friend, now yours as well, was very happy to meet you. I thought it ended up being a fun party.

I swear it was more then 10 at the bosses house. I had to go out and do another persons driveway I was hired to do so thought it was a good thing to help the boss also. Secondly, my son goes to school with the bosses daughter, who is cute, and my son wanted to look like a stud out shoveling. So he wanted to do it also. When a kid wants to work got to run with it. :)

So if I put this in writing I am hosed, but I think it is worth it. I am taking your bet on the lunch. Guess that means you might have to be present at some point on the course to see that I am running it huh? :)

HAHA, i agree I think it should be something you do using your flex schedule. Drive by addroc and make sure shes there, and then drive to her house with the back of the truck full of snow and dump it in the CEO's driveway. Then take the stuff she shoveled to the side and shovel it into the drive way. Hell just make a huge wall of snow blocking her driveway. That will be hilarious.

I hate hangovers, but I love Vegas!
I've been bad about posting regularly myself. Someone eventually emails or leaves a comment requesting a post but we've never had anyone strike. A strike is a pretty strong indicator it's time to post!
Have a great weekend!
