Buggy Time

I have been part of the blogging world and not ready to give it up. Thus I will continue here or be striked on until I continue.

Traveling Nerd

Okay so I been watching for a few days, a little over a week, knowing that gator woud soon be hounding me for an update. I been thinking about it also but not taken the time. So to show you how much of a NERD I am here is my post.

Work is awesome. I really like the people I work for and my life has smoothed out immensely as time continues for me here. The freedom to get family things done and get my job done is what I was used to and am loving being back in the professional world that Addroc lacked.

My boss got a promotion so that now means I am going to be still working for her but taking on more responsibility. She told me this is a promotion for me too and to look into what I thought I was worth and she would try to help me financially. I have done my research and have not had my meeting with her yet but it looks like things will get better for work.

Okay the nerd part. I was asked to go to Orlando for a conference for work. So here I sit in the airport waiting for my flight on Sunday morning plugged into an outlet and on a Verizon wireless connection updating my blog for you Gator. Yep, it’s true I am a nerd.

No Blog Strikes Smartass.

I also just wanted you all to know that I just posted as I don't want to be the one to hold Smartass up from posting and being on strike. I am doing my part as best I can. :)

Here is your Catch Up Post

Okay I have been bugged by Smartass to put out an update and now Y has sent em a notice to get it done also. And I didn’t think anyone cared to read my rambling posts of nothingness once I left Addroc. It is nice to know you all still care.

I have been busy with working my tail off the last 2.5 weeks as the gal I share work with at the new company was out on vacation. I was swamped at times and I am really glad she is back and taking off some load again today. Been a lot of catching up on what she did and picture looking as well. She even brought me back some Belgium chocolate from Brussels. Can we all say mmmm together?

I been running still. I have dropped almost another 10 pounds in the last month. My times are still getting faster and the distance is still climbing. I did a 14.2 mile run this last Saturday morning and felt pretty good through it. Not a bad time for that distance either at less than 2 hours. At least not bad for a fat nerd still pretending to be a runner.

My kids are doing well in school. Son is in the marching band and niece is a cheerleader as you all know. So when we go to football games it is like a big family reunion. My wife and I have helped in what is called the pit crew for the marching band. We don’t mind filling in and helping once in a while but when you realize that the parents of the kids that actually play those instrument are not there helping at all it kind of pisses you off. Our son plays the sax so why are we out pulling around the drum and xylophones etc etc? Let those parents get out and help their own kids some.

I been in this shopping frenzy lately also. My truck needed new tires for the upcoming snowy season and it has been a tight year on cash with job changes etc. So I been shopping trying to find the best deal. Well that just ended as I finally found a set of tires and happened to find a rebate online that I should get. Kind of a lucky chance I found the rebate on the day it expired and was able to get the tires installed that day to make the timing. Won’t be long and the buggy will be parked for the year as the leaves are all changing.

Smarter came to me last week and said “I pulled down a day of Addroc and sent it to a guy here to read.” I guess they had been talking and decided to share a day of our writing. I happened to have shared a Addroc story the other day also with some people. I told of thongboy and they were rolling laughing. They asked if I had written that much about a place I should change the names and publish it as a book. Smarter got the same response. It seems once you share a small piece of the Addroc story with someone they want to read more and get more information.

I even noticed that after reading a page the other day it was funny and I had to read a little bit more to remember. Being on the outside now it is funny though at the time we were living it was frustration relief. Smarter and I both also realized that our personal writing skills improved over the time we were writing it. Shows practice does help. We both wished we could write like that more and do miss the writing. It is hard though to dream stuff up and that doesn’t come natural for us. We happened to just have a great thing happening there for us to write about.

I am going to think a bit more about seeing how to publish that. Never know might be our claim to fame in the future.
